Nagoya, Batam’s main city is the center of the nightlife scene, as there are many pubs and bars, and most of Batam’s hotels are in Nagoya, so there are always a lot of visitors staying in the area. So if you are staying in Batam you should definitely get out at night and have some fun!

Nagoya City, Batam’s main city, is a vibrant and lively place and is home to the majority of Batam’s pubs & bars. Getting about Nagoya is easy, as many of the pubs are within walking distance from hotels, or if they are a bit too far to walk, then you can take a Batam Taxi from your hotel lobby, or if you are on foot, just hail a passing taxi. Most taxis in Batam don’t have meters so your negotiating skills will come in handy!
Nagoya has lots of hotels, and many of them also have their own bars and disco’s or KTV lounge, so you don’t have to go far to have a good time!

Nagoya Entertainment District Batam
Around the area near the Harmoni Hotel, Panorama Regency Hotel and Goodway Hotel is what is known as the Nagoya Entertainment District or simply NED.
Along the streets and side roads are numerous pubs, with many side by side. Lucy’s Oarhouse is a popular spot, which also serves meals & snack food. They have Batam’s only GoGo bar, PP Banana which is upstairs and is open from 2pm on Fri / Sat / Sun only.
Across the road from Lucy’s is Rio Rita. Stepping out from Lucy’s and turning right you will discover many more bars. The first is the Jungle Bar which was one of Batam’s earliest bars and still lives on today. Next is Classics and across from there is the Red Cock Inn which serves some very tasty Western and Asian dishes. Next door to Classics is the Ice Pub, also one of Batam’s earlier pubs.
Steps Music Lounge is a large pub that regularly has live music, either a resident group or a visiting band, and gets pretty lively on Saturday nights. The Hard Chilli Café is next, which is located upstairs, followed by George’s Bar and Last Pub. A bit further along is the Bistro which serves up some good food, then there is the Red Rose and Beyond Bar
If you a feeling hungry there is a McDonald's and KFC nearby, as well as lots of local Nasi Padang restaurants and street hawkers selling food.
Running short of cash? No problem as there is several ATM machines around the ‘District’ as well as money changers, and some of the bars will take credit cards.
You can also enjoy some Batam nightlife in the hotels, such as the Tampico, a Mexican themed bar in the Novotel Hotel, and the Tavern in the Panorama Regency Hotel. The Planet Holiday Hotel has a rooftop bar on the 21st floor, which has great night time views of Nagoya and across the sea to Singapore. The Goodway Hotel has a nice Wine Bar
Live Music, Nightclubs, Disco’s and KTV Bars
For a bit of different Batam nightlife, Nagoya has plenty of options for those that enjoy live music or clubbing. The No Name Bar in the Harmoni Hotel is a popular live music spot, with many visiting ‘big name’ live bands playing there. The Sphinx and Ozon nightclubs are popular with the locals, and the clubs like to play their music loud!
The newest disco is the Pacific Disco. which is at the Pacific Hotel. This hotel is built in the shape of a cruise ship, and is locally nicknamed the ‘Titanic’. The Summit at the Planet Holiday Hotel is also a popular club with live music
Nagoya has lots of Karaoke Bars (KTV), that play a range of Asian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Western music, most have big screens showing the videos and also have dance floors. Popular KTV bars are Memori KTV and Hawai KTV, both within the ‘District’
Batam Nightlife - Waterfront City Area
Waterfront City is located on the south-western side of Batam and has two luxury hotels. It is easily accessible from Singapore as the ferry can go direct to Waterfront City Ferry Terminal, just a few minutes from the hotels, or if you are coming by a Batam Taxi from Nagoya, it is only about a 20 min ride
The hotels have bars in them and at the nearby Marina Waterfront area there are several Pubs. If you are staying at the Holiday Inn Hotel it is just a 100 meter walk across to the Marina Waterfront, or 2 mins by taxi from the nearby Harris Hotel.
Waterfront City is home to a mixture of fun related activities, restaurants, bars and scenic areas, all close to the hotels
There is a nearby Boat Marina, with capacity for approximately 100 boats. The Marina has many berths available for a variety of different sized boats. Overnight, short or long term berthing available
There is plenty to do at Waterfront City, such as water skiing at Batam Cable Water Ski Park, Go Karts at the Step One Go Kart Circuit, Ten Pin Bowling at the Harris Hotel, para-sailing and jet skiing just to name a few

Queen’s Restaurant & Café is located on the sea shore at Marina Waterfront, Waterfront City, this restaurant & bar is the most popular spot for some real Batam nightlife, for those visiting or staying in the Waterfront area. With an indoor bar (air-conditioned), an outdoor bar with covered roof & ceiling fans and a beach side bar with tables & umbrellas, this bar is regularly packed with holiday makers & expats working in the nearby Tanjung Uncang construction yards.
Rock, R & B and pop music is played nightly and there is a good selection of beers, wines & spirits, as well as full course meals or snack food from the kitchen. A pool table is also available free of charge for customers. The bar is open daily from 11.00am until late; the restaurant is open daily for lunch & dinner and serves Western, Asian and local dishes, as well as having a live seafood selection
Next to Queen’s is Danny’s II Bar, this bar has a good selection of beers, wines & spirits, as well as a pool table for customers. The bar is open from 5.00pm until late (closed the night before public holidays)
Located near Senimba Bay (behind the Harris Hotel) is the Monkey Bar, this beach side bar is a nice spot to spend an evening as it overlooks the bay. The bar is open from 5.00pm until late (closed the night before public holidays).
